Obituary of Yong Cha Smith

Mrs. Yong Cha Smith, 68, of East Main Street, Nelliston, New York died, Monday, February 21, 2011 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 15, 1942 in South Korea and was the daughter of Kum Yun and Yamo Yu. Mrs. Smith had been a resident of Nelliston since 1974. Mrs. Smith worked for Carville National Leather, retiring in 1999 after 22 years. Gardening, both flower and vegetable, was something she greatly enjoyed. On December 31, 1971 at the American Embassy in Seoul, Korea, she was married to Timothy Smith. They celebrated 40 years together. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Timothy Smith of Nelliston, NY; 2 daughters, Anny Yun of Albany, NY, Tracy Crouse of St. Johnsville, NY; 1 son, Steven J. Smith of Nelliston, NY; 1 brother; 4 sisters; 1 granddaughter, Cameo Gray of Albany, NY; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Burial will take place at Fort Plain Cemetery in the Spring.
