Obituary of Ruth M. Hill

Mrs. Ruth M. Hill, 78, of County Highway 140, St. Johnsville, New York, died Monday, May 2, 2011 at her home following a brief illness. Born on June 17, 1932 in Gloversville, NY, she was the daughter of Myron Merrill and Florence Fredericks Merrill. She was a graduate of Gloversville High School, class of 1950 and was a lifetime area resident. Mrs. Hill worked at Hussman's in Gloversville for over 30 years. She was of Methodist faith. Mrs. Hill was a member of the Ephratah Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to the Ephratah Softball Tournament and was an avid football and Yankees fan. Mrs. Hill was married to Richard E. Hill. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1975. She was also predeceased by her sister, Betty and brothers, Lewis and Robert Merrill. She is survived by her sons, Richard D. and Gail Hill of Colorado Springs, CO, Edward A. and Christina Hill of Canajoharie, NY, Robert W. and Deanne Hill of Ephratah, NY; daughter, Linda D. and Clayton Berry of Ephratah, NY; brother, Jack Merrill; sisters, Marion Smith, Joan Anadio; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
