Obituary of Mark A. Mallett

Mr. Mark A. Mallett, 54, of Western Avenue, Albany, New York, died suddenly, Monday afternoon, May 23, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
Born on October 28, 1956 in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of Robert P. Mallett and Kathryn Lewis Mallett, who both preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, class of 1974 and a graduate of Albany Business College, class of 1976. He had been a resident of the Capital District since graduating from high school and previously resided in Palatine Bridge.
Mr. Mallett worked for over 30 years at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany as the Director of Information Technology until his retirement.
He was a member of the Reformed Church of Canajoharie.
Mr. Mallett became an Eagle Scout in 1970 and was a life member of Boy Scouts of America. He loved sports, especially golf. He was an avid fan of the NY Rangers and the NY Yankees.
Mark is survived by his wife, Michele Mallett of Clifton Park, NY; daughter, Emily Mallett of Clifton Park, NY; brothers, Larry R. Mallett of Palatine Bridge, NY, Michael J. Mallett of Palatine Bridge, NY; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with Rev. Miriam Barnes officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 5-8pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Canajoharie Falls Cemetery at a later date.
