Mr. Charles E. Darrow, 62, of Hilltop Road, Sprakers, New York died Monday, April 30, 2017 at St. Mary's Healthcare in Amsterdam, following a long illness.
Born on July 13, 1954 in Little Falls, NY, he was the son of Harold Edward Darrow and Anne K. Davi Darrow. He was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, Class of 1972 and was a lifetime area resident.
Mr. Darrow worked for Hussmann Corp in Gloversville, in the maintenance department, as a group leader, for over 35 years.
He played football in the Spraker's Shit Kicker's League. He was a former Rifle Club Member at Canajoharie School. Charles enjoyed cooking and chit chatting with people. He loved his 4 cats, who will miss him terribly.
On July 13, 2002 at The Currytown Church, Charles was married to Laura May Wells. Together they celebrated almost 15 years of marriage.
Mr. Darrow is survived by his wife, Laura May Darrow of Sprakers, NY; son, Jacob E. Darrow of Rochester, NY; step-children, Aubrey and Bill Dingman of Canandaigua, NY, Deborah Stella and Fiance, Jason Rockwell of Johnstown, NY, Jesse and Gwen Stella of Albany, NY, Amanda Stella and boyfriend, Robert Epting of Fultonville, NY; sisters, Deborah Buck of Johnstown, NY, Phyllis and Anthony Lapi of Sprakers, NY; grandson, Samuel Darrow; granddaughter, Jacqueline Darrow; step-grandchildren, Paige and Olivia Dingman, Gabriel Rockwell, Gino Stella, Brenden Epting; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 6:00pm at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 4:00-6:00pm at the funeral home.
