Obituary of Carmeta N. Getz

Mrs. Carmeta Nellis Getz, 93, died May 30, 2011 in Mayfield, Kentucky. Born on December 19, 1917 in Nelliston, NY, she was the daughter of Clyde Edward and Grace Cockreill Nellis. She graduated from Fort Plain High School and married the late Robert J. Getz on July 10, 1942. She was a member of the Fort Plain United Methodist Church. Mrs. Getz formerly resided in Nelliston and Memphis, TN, before moving to Mayfield, KY in 1998. In addition to being predeceased by her husband she is also predeceased by her brother, Clyde Nellis. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Getz Norquest and Robert of Holly Springs, NC; son, Robert J. Getz, Jr. and Mary Ann of Mayfield, KY; 2 granddaughters, Stephanie Getz Upshaw and Benjamin of Durham, NC, Tiffany Norquest and Joseph Rusnak of Mebane, NC; 3 great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Upshaw, Emily Upshaw, Alyssa Rusnak; sister-in-law, Evelyn Getz of Goshen, NY; 2 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandsons; nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 11:00am at Fort Plain Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating.
