Obituary of Edmond E. Miller

Mr. Edmond E. Miller, 91, of Walnut Street, Canajoharie, New York died Monday, April 25, 2016 at St. Johnsville Rehab and Nursing Center. Born on January 1, 1925 in Fonda, NY, he was the son of Err Miller and Ada Smith Miller. He was a lifetime area resident. Mr. Miller worked for Beech-Nut Life Savers, Inc. in Canajoharie for many years and had also worked as a farrier. He was a member of St. John's & St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Canajoharie. Mr. Miller enjoyed Square Dancing with Cross Trails Square Dance Club and horses. On January 4, 1964 at St. John's & St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Edmond married Dorothy Heiser Vouga Miller. She preceded him in death on December 15, 1994. His step-son, Vernon A. Vouga; step-son-in-law, William Schaffer; brothers, Milford, Charles, Theron, Howard, Everett; and sisters, Reva, Eva, and Vivian also predeceased him. Mr. Miller is survived by his step-daughter, Shirley Vouga Schaffer of Canajoharie, NY; daughter-in-law, Marion Vouga of Gloversville, NY; brother, Fayette; sister, Elreda; 4 step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; step-great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11:00am at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with Rev. Zach Labagh officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, from 10:00-11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mr. Edmond E.
