Obituary of Beatrice I. Nellis

Mrs. Beatrice I. Nellis, 93, of Church Street, St. Johnsville, New York died, early Wednesday morning, July 20, 2011 at Mountain Valley Hospice House in Gloversville, NY following a brief illness. Born on February 24, 1918 in Nelliston, NY, she was the daughter of Harry Alfonso Nellis and Lena Katherine Yops Nellis. She was a lifetime area resident. Mrs. Nellis attended Fort Plain High School and later went on to beautician school where she obtained her cosmetology license. Mrs. Nellis was a beautician for Vogue in Fort Plain, NY. She enjoyed drawing. Mrs. Nellis is predeceased by her husband, Harold Alavh Smith who she married February 24, 1939. She is also predeceased by 2 sisters, Ruthie Zoller and Milly Davis. She is survived by her son, William H. Smith and Heidi of Sagle, ID; sister, Dorothy N. Peeler of FL; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; 2 nieces, Joanne Fowler, Kayleen & Bob Muscarella of FL; nephew, Harry & Barb Zoller of Richmond, VA; grand-nieces & nephews, Tara & Nolan Stanton, Tamara Fowler, Scott Fowler, Tanya Fowler, Troy Fowler, John Muscarella, Chris Muscarella, Matt Zoller, and Darrin Zoller. Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery.
