Obituary of Sarah A. Balchunas

Miss Sarah A. Balchunas, 89, of Canal Street, Fort Plain, New York, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at her home. Born on December 13, 1921 in Fort Plain, NY, she was the daughter of Simon Balchunas and Barbara Galvetye Balchunas. She was educated in Fort Plain Schools and was a lifelong area resident. Miss Balchunas cleaned homes for many families in Fort Plain. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Fort Plain and a member of the Alter Rosary Society. Miss Balchunas was predeceased by 2 siblings, Anna M. Polinski and Joseph B. Balchunas. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 2:00pm at Fort Plain Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY with Linda Faduski officiating.
