Obituary of Anna Reynolds

Mrs. Anna Reynolds, 80, of St. Hwy. 162 Sprakers, New York died, early Monday, August 29, 2011 at her home. Born on August 13, 1931 in Currytown, NY, she was the daughter of Louis Carron and Marie Thetaz Carron. Anna was a graduate of Canajoharie Central School, class of 1950 and was a lifetime area resident. Mrs. Reynolds cared for many children as a babysitter. She was a mother and homemaker as well as working at Beech-Nut in Canajoharie as tour guide in the plant. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Fort Plain, NY. On October 8, 1955 at the former St. Peter's & Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Canajoharie, Anna was married to Alton J. Reynolds. Together they celebrated almost 56 years of marriage. She was predeceased by her half-brothers, Fernard, Alfred and Joseph Carron; half-sister, Amelia. Mrs. Reynolds is survived by her husband, Alton J. Reynolds of Sprakers, NY; 3 children, Alan Reynolds of Oppenheim, NY, Cheryl Benninger (Bill) of Canajoharie, NY, Daniel Reynolds (Patti) of Sloansville, NY; daughter-in-law, Diane Reynolds; 4 brothers, George Carron of Amsterdam, NY, Edward Carron of Glen, NY, Maurice Carron of Amsterdam, NY, Marcel Carron of Northville, NY; sister, Emma Dugan of Colonie, NY; grandchildren, Aubrey Wilday, Megan Barry, Bellamy Reynolds, Katie Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Nathan Rocus and Violet Wilday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 12:30pm at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY with Father Dennis Murphy officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, September 1st from 10:00-12:00pm at Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda, NY.
