Obituary of Wilson M. Mason

Mr. Wilson M. "Bill" Mason, Jr., 56, of Carlisle Road, Sprakers, New York died, Friday, October 7, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Born on September 26, 1955 in Herkimer, NY, he was the son of Wilson M. Mason, Sr. and Marion Maine Smith. He attended Oppenheim-Ephratah Schools and was a lifelong resident of Canajoharie. Bill was the owner and operator of B&M Logging of Sprakers. He was a member of the NRA, and of the Loyal Order of the Moose #853 of Canajoharie. Bill loved hunting and fishing. Together Bill and his wife, Stacey R. Clouthier celebrated 36 years of marriage. Mr. Mason is survived by his wife, Stacey R. Mason of Canajoharie, NY; mother, Marion Smith of Oppenheim, NY; 2 sons, Jason and wife, Tara Jean Mason of Canajoharie, NY, Jordan Mason of Canajoharie, NY; 4 daughters, Jessica Mason and Rodney Boyer, Jr. of Canajoharie, NY, Jennifer Mason of Canajoharie, NY, Mariyah Mason of Canajoharie, NY, Emily Mason of Canajoharie, NY; 7 brothers, Rob Mason of Canajoharie, NY, Scott Smith, Mark Smith, Billy Smith, Benny Smith, Bobby Smith, Carl Smith all of Oppenheim, NY; 4 sisters, Candy Buck of Worchester, NY, Kathy Burton of Stratford, NY, Felicia Manchester of Fort Plain, NY, Julie Youker of Oppenheim, NY; 11 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 10:00am at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, with Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Freysbush Cemetery.
