Obituary of Olga J. Capece

Mrs. Olga J. Capece, 94, of Hickory Hill Road, Fort Plain, New York, died Friday, October 28, 2011 at St. Johnsville Nursing Home with her family by her side. Mrs. Capece was taken ill with the loss of her eldest son, George on October 16, 2011. Born on August 11, 1917 in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of Joseph George and Marcella Cotelli George. Mrs. Capece attended school in Little Falls, NY, and was a lifetime area resident, spending her early childhood in Troy, NY, later moving to Little Falls. After High School, she then moved to St. Johnsville. Mrs. Capece was employed for 38 years at the Little Falls Felt Shoe Company in St. Johnsville, NY. Following her retirement she worked with her son, George at his deli. She was of Catholic faith. Olga was a dedicated housewife and mother who loved to cook. Her family was her life and because of that she loved preparing Sunday dinners with them. On October 10, 1936 at the former St. Patrick's Catholic Church in St. Johnsville, she was married to Louis R. Capece, Sr. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2003. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Trooper John George, Robert George, Joseph George; sister, Mary Loucks and son, George L. Capece, Sr. Mrs. Capece is survived by her 2 sons, Louis "Rusty" Capece, Jr. of Fort Plain, NY, Ronald D. Capece of Fort Plain, NY; sister, Francis Capece of St. Simons Island, GA; brother, Raymond George of Little Falls, NY; her eldest grandson, George Capece, Jr. of Fort Plain, NY, who spent many years with her; 6 other grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Reid Street, Fort Plain, NY, with Father Dennis Murphy officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 9:00-10:00am at the Church. Burial will take place in West St. Johnsville Cemetery at a later date.
