Obituary of Guito Bruschetti

Mr. Guito Bruschetti, 81, of St. Hwy. 10, Canajoharie, New York, passed away with his family by his side Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.
Born on March 30, 1930 in Fort Plain, NY, he was the son of Romolo Bruschetti and Josephine Biasini Bruschetti. He was educated at Fort Plain Central School and was a lifetime area resident.
Mr. Bruschetti retired from LifeSavers in Canajoharie in 1991. He was a machine adjuster.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War, obtaining the rank of Sergeant.
Guito was of Christian faith.
Mr. Bruschetti was a member of the snowmobile club and an avid hunter. He built himself a park behind his home.
On October 6, 1956 at the former St. Peter's & Paul's Catholic Church, he was married to Patricia Zoller. Together they celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Mr. Bruschetti was predeceased by his son, Richard B. Bruschetti on June 18, 1982. He was also predeceased by his 3 sisters, Mary, Anita, Flora and brother, Remo.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Bruschetti of Canajoharie, NY; 2 daughters, JoAnne Miller and Mike Geer of Vernon, NY, Karen and Alan Hordge of Canajoharie, NY; 3 granddaughters, Jessica Miller, Jackie Miller, Kate Miller; grandson, Tristan Hordge; 1 nephew; 2 nieces and several cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 10:00am at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie with Rev. Wayne Cole officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from 5-8pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery with Military Honors at graveside by the US Army.
