Mr. Michael W. Claven, 63, of Cady Street, Johnstown, New York, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at home with his loving wife, Linda by his side.
He was born on February 28, 1948 in Amsterdam, NY, the son of the late Joseph and Evelyn Abeling Claven.
Mike was a lifelong Canajoharie Redskin. He enjoyed golf, history, classical music and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Claven was employed at Exel in Johnstown, NY as an Asset Protector until his recent retirement.
He was a veteran of the US Air Force.
Mike is predeceased by his parents, his favorite mother-in-law, Ruth Linder and his granddaughter, Mikayla Wolfkiel.
Mr. Claven is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Linda Claven of Johnstown, NY; daughters, Nicole and David Wolfkiel of Canajoharie, NY, Misti Canada of Johnstown, NY; stepson, William Lesso and companion, Dawn Storch of Spencer, NY; stepdaughter, Tamra and Russell Phillips of WA; sister, Nancy and Paul Newman of Utica, NY; second dad, William Linder of Johnson City, NY; grandchildren, Michelle, Brandon, Patrick and Matteau; great-grandson, Andrew; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to Rich and Sylvia Carley, Alice Leach, Ed and JoAnn Kiffney, Sarah and Justin Goyette, for all their help and support.
