Obituary of Frances O'Leary

Frances E. O'Leary (a/k/a our beloved Aunt Fran) of Fort Plain, New York, passed away at age 90 on Saturday January 21, 2012 following a brief illness. Fran was born August 19th, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois and lived in Thousand Oaks, California for 40 years before moving to Fort Plain in 2008. She worked as an accountant before moving to Southern California, and her hobbies ranged from golf to sewing to Hawaiian dancing. Fran loved to express her artistic talent through her beautiful and intricate hand-painted ceramics. In her later years, she supported many causes and donated to many organizations. But her real passion was her family, and she devoted her life to us. Aunt Fran opened her home to any family in need, and nurtured us into one big, happy family living in a home filled with love. She is survived by her nieces Tracy, Jeanne, and Patricia, nephew Mark, grandnieces Nikki, Amy, and Lauren, grandnephew Scott, and great-grandniece Emily Colleen, and she is preceded in death by her beloved husband John "Bud" O'Leary, sister Rita, brother Richie (Colleen), and her parents Gertrude and Mark. Services will be held in Elmhurst, Illinois. In lieu of flowers and in honor of her beloved dogs, especially Clancy and Molly, please make a donation to the ASPCA or your local -no-kill animal shelter. Thank you, Jeanne and family, for traveling from Chicago to help out, and to Carol--also to all the nurses, especially Flo at HCP, and thank you to our neighbors in Thousand Oaks for the kindness and help you gave us, and to all of our newfound neighbors and friends in Fort Plain, who were there for our beautiful Aunt Fran--she was a beautiful lady indeed!
