Obituary of Paul F. VanValkenburg

Mr. Paul F. VanValkenburg, 58, of Carlisle Road, Canajoharie, New York went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 5, 2012. Born on December 13, 1953 in Little Falls, NY, he was the son of Robert W. VanValkenburg and Betty Irene Leneker VanValkenburg. He was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, class of 1972 and also took courses from the Chicago Technical College in 1976. Paul was a lifelong area resident, constructing the home that he and his parents lived in on Carlisle Road. Mr. VanValkenburg retired from Richardsons in Canajoharie as a batch maker. Prior to his employment with Richardsons Paul was employed at the former LifeSavers in Canajoharie. He was a member of the Canajoharie Reformed Church. Mr. VanValkenburg enjoyed carpentry and loved working with computers. Paul is survived by his parents Robert W. and Betty I. VanValkenburg of Canajoharie, NY; sister, Judy and her husband Charles Burgess of Canajoharie, NY; niece, Jenna Burgess of Dalhart, TX; nephew, Joshua Burgess of Canajoharie, NY; as well as several cousins. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 10:00am at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317 with Rev. Nancy Ryan officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 4-7 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery. A service of remembrance will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 7:00pm at the Canajoharie Reformed Church, 15-19 Front Street, Canajoharie, NY with Rev. Miriam Barnes officiating.
