Obituary of Eileen J. Nestle

Mrs. Eileen J. Nestle, 87, of Maple Avenue, Canajoharie, New York died, Friday, February 10, 2012 at Palatine Nursing Home. Born on October 19, 1924 in Canajoharie, NY, she was the daughter of Henry Jones and Hazel Nichols Jones. She was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, class of 1944 and was a lifetime area resident. Mrs. Nestle was a machine operator in the Gum Department at LifeSavers in Canajoharie for 37 years, retiring in March 1981. She was a member of the Canajoharie Reformed Church. Mrs. Nestle was a member of the Seebers Lane Grange, Treasurer and member of Canajoharie Senior Citizens Club and member of the 25 Year Club at LifeSavers. On July 30, 1960 at the Canajoharie Reformed Church, Eileen was married to Donald C. Nestle. Together they celebrated over 51 years of marriage. Mrs. Nestle is survived by her husband Donald C. Nestle of Canajoharie, NY; brother, Henry D. and his wife, Jane Jones of Canajoharie, NY; nephew, Jeffrey Roof of Johnstown, NY; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with Rev. Miriam Barnes officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, February 14 from 10-11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery.
