Obituary of William E. Burke, Sr.

Mr. William E. Burke, Sr., 55, of Rural Grove, Town of Root, New York passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020 at home. Born on December 1, 1964 in Rural Grove, NY, he was the son of George Burke and Dorothy Schoonmaker. He attended Canajoharie High School and was a lifetime area resident. Mr. Burke worked for Kas-Keller in Fonda. He also worked for many area farms. He enjoyed hunting, horseshoes, drinking, and watching sports and the news. In addition to his parents his brothers, Stephen E. Burke, Chester C. Burke; sister, Edna Mae Burke; and uncle, Harry James predeceased him. Mr. Burke is survived by his daughter, Jessica Burke; sons, William E. Burke, Jr., Kyle Burke; siblings, Ann Burke, John Burke, Robert Burke, Debbie Burke, Richard Burke, Maryann and Daniel Nightingale, Sr., Arlene Burke, Gary Burke; grandchildren, Trevor, Krystal, Joey, Blake, Jace, Jayelynn, Jaden, Jamie Lynn; nephews, Justin and Kayla, DJ, David and Samantha, Mike, Derek, Paul, Steven; niece, Kayla and Levi Hinkle; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in Canajoharie Falls Cemetery.
