Obituary of Jane Louise Kosinski

Mrs. Jane Louise Kosinski, 87, of Pauline Avenue, Deerfield, New York died, Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica following a brief illness. Born on June 18, 1924 in Nelliston, NY, she was the daughter of Albert Schiemer and Ruth Smith Schiemer. She was a graduate of Fort Plain High School. Mrs. Kosinski later graduated from Albany Business College and also attended Utica college for nursing. She was a resident of the Utica area most of her life. Mrs. Kosinski was a Psychiatric Aide for the former Utica State Psychiatric Hospital, retiring after 20 years. She was of Protestant faith. She was an avid Hockey fan whose favorite teams were the Clinton Comets and the Utica Devils. In the past she enjoyed watching Sports car races at the Fonda Speedway, cheering on local favorite Lou Lazarro. Jane enjoyed traveling with her husband and reading. Mrs. Kosinski was predeceased by her husband, Walter Kosinski in 1997 and her daughter, Janis C. Becker in 2008. She is survived by her sons, Eric J. Wolinski of Deerfield, NY, Mark Raymond Wolinski of Deerfield, NY; daughters, Charlayne Crouse of Utica, NY, Bonnie and Jim Hoffman of Canajoharie, NY; 5 grandchildren, Mannie Hoffman, Matt Folts, Rickie Becker, Tanya Crouse, Daryl Crouse; and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317 with Rev. Zach Labagh officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 17 from 11:00-1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Ephratah Rural Cemetery in Ephratah, NY. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Kosinski may be made to the Charity of One's Choice.
