Mr. Shawn M. Wellman, 34, of County Highway 109, Broadalbin, New York died suddenly on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at his home with his family.
Born on August 25, 1977 in Cooperstown, NY, he was the son of Robert Bruce and Leann Webb. He was a graduate of Cherry Valley High School, class of 1996. He attended several programs through Harley Davidson and Toyota to further his education. Shawn had been a resident of Broadalbin since 2008, previously residing in Gloversville.
Most recently Mr. Wellman was an auto technician for Steet Toyota in Johnstown, NY. He had also worked for American Foreign Auto and Vans Harley Davidson.
Mr. Wellman attended Fulmont Community Church in Johnstown, NY.
Shawn enjoyed working on motorcycles with his friends. He also enjoyed being with his children, hunting and fishing.
On June 25, 2011 at the Fulmont Community Church in Johnstown, Shawn was married to Mary Gotobed. Their relationship started in 2005.
Mr. Wellman was predeceased by his grandfather, Leon Webb.
Shawn is survived by his mother and step-father, Leann and Larry Smith of Springfield Center, NY; father, Robert Bruce of Florida; grandmother, Nancy Webb of Salt Springville, NY; wife, Mary Wellman of Fish House, NY; children, Dylan Wellman, Andrew Cabezas, Michaela Rosario, Justin Rosario; brother, Morgan Bruce of Florida; several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 10:00am at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with Pastor Greg Meyers officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery.
