Obituary of M.Jean Steffenhagen

Mrs. M. Jean Steffenhagen, 85, of Highland Terrace, Fort Plain, New York died, Monday, April 30, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Born on August 13, 1926 in Cullman, AL, she was the daughter of Ollie Channey and Maude Canant Channey. She had been a local area resident since 1958. Mrs. Steffenhagen was a self-employed Tax Advisor for over 40 years. She enjoyed many interesting hobbies throughout her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Steffenhagen. Mrs. Steffenhagen is survived by her sons, Curt and Debbie Nellis of Powhatan, VA, Jim and Susan Nellis of Manchester, MA; daughter, Amy Jones and Daniel Kreski of Maiden, NC; grandchildren, Laura Jones of Gloversville, NY, Heather Nellis of Powhatan, VA and Shelley Nellis of Richmond, VA. A celebration of life will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 from 3:00-6:00pm at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. In memory of Mrs. M. Jean Steffenhagen contributions may be made to the Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Service, 46 West Grand Street, Palatine Bridge, NY 13428.
