Mr. James G. Peck, 57, of Sprakers Road, Sprakers, New York passed away, Friday, May 12, 2017 at St. Mary's Healthcare of Amsterdam.
Born on December 6, 1959 in Gloversville, NY, he was the son of Winford E. Peck and Doris S. Peck. He was a graduate of Fonda-Fultonville High School, Class of 1978. He attended FFA classes at Canajoharie High School during his Junior and Senior years and was a lifetime area resident.
Jim worked for Beech-Nut for 23 years. He then went into business for himself, drilling wells for several years. Following that he went to work for the Town of Root Highway Department for approximately 13 years.
He was a member of the Canajoharie Reformed Church.
Jim loved having large get-togethers with his family and friends. He was a member of the Canajoharie Eagles Club #3846, where he served as past President for over 5 years. He enjoyed farming, and driving big tractors. He had been involved in some sort of farming ever since he was 4 years old.
On October 29, 1978 at the Fultonville Methodist Church Jim was married to Carol Kuck. Together they celebrated over 38 years of marriage.
His father, Winford E. Peck predeceased him.
Jim is survived by his mother, Doris S. Peck of Sprakers, NY; wife, Carol A. Peck of Sprakers, NY; daughter, Mary E. Peck of Fort Plain, NY; 3 sons, James G. Peck, Jr. and Karlene of Sprakers, NY, Scott M. Peck of Albany, NY, Matthew R. Peck and Lizzie Frasier of Sprakers, NY; 2 grandchildren, Hailey R. Peck, and Easton J. Peck; brother, Winford E. Peck, Jr. of Sprakers, NY; sister-in-law, Lori and Vinnie Racaniello; brother-in-law, Eric and Karin Kuck; father-in-law, Ken Kuck; several nieces, and cousins; and best 4-legged friend and copilot, Gus.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00am at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 4:00-7:00pm and Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 10:00-11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Maple Ave. Cemetery in Fultonville, NY.
