Obituary of Julia Ellen Larson

Mrs. Julia Ellen Larson, 95, of Valley Health Services, Herkimer, New York died Monday, August 20, 2012 at Valley Health Services. Born on July 24, 1917 in Hansboro, North Dakota, she was the daughter of Albert Sidney Brooks and Margaret Atkinson Brooks. She received her BA in Education from Jamestown College in Jamestown, North Dakota in 1938. Mrs. Larson had been a resident of Fort Plain for 14 years, previously residing in Paradise, CA and Hesperia, CA. Mrs. Larson taught English, Writing, Literature and Speech for Paradise High School in Paradise, CA from 1965 to 1974. She was a communicant of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Paradise, CA. On April 14, 1948 in Hansboro, North Dakota, Julia married Edwin Larson. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1998. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Margaret Ryan; brother, James A. Brooks and sister, Rita Lentz. Mrs. Larson is survived by her cousin, Kathleen Foley of Gardner, MA; brother-in-law, Walter Lentz of Glasgow, MT; several nieces and nephews. Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
