Mrs. Louise M. Prime, 91, of Maple Ave., Canajoharie, New York died Saturday, September 22, 2012 at St. Johnsville Nursing Home.
Born on November 5, 1920 in Canajoharie, NY, she was the daughter of Charles Mingst and Bertha McFee Mingst. She was educated in Canajoharie Schools and was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Prime was employed at Beech-Nut in Canajoharie for 19 years, retiring from the Strained Foods Department.
She was a member of St. John's & St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Canajoharie.
Mrs. Prime was a member of the Smith-Schultz American Legion Post #222 Ladies Auxiliary and the Canajoharie Senior Citizens. She was an avid golfer and card player at Arkell Center in Canajoharie.
On August 9, 1947 in Canajoharie, NY, Louise was married to Alton J. Prime. Together they celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Mrs. Prime is predeceased by her aunt, Bernice Westerman.
She is survived by her husband, Alton J. Prime of Canajoharie, NY and several cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 10:00am at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with Pastor Zach Labagh officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 from 5:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery.
