Obituary of Ruth E. Hulbert

Mrs. Ruth E. Hulbert, 98, of Youngs Road, Fort Plain, New York died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Little Falls Hospital. Born on October 18, 1914 in Norway, New York, she was the adoptive daughter of Maurice and Lillian Darrow. She had been a local area resident for many years, previously residing in Mindenville. Mrs. Hulbert was a homemaker. She was previously employed as an attendant at Letchworth Village in Thiells, NY for 16 ½ years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Freysbush Bible Church and Hessville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary. On October 17, 1956 in Nyack, NY, Ruth was married to Addison R. Hulbert. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1977. She was also predeceased by her son, Rowland Calhoun; brothers, Glenn and Albert Darrow; step-son, Addison Hulbert, Jr. Mrs. Hulbert is survived by her step-son, Lawrence Edward and Caroline Hulbert of Fort Plain, NY; step-daughters, Ann and Harold Lynch of Ilion, NY, Barbara and Allen Schreiber of Helene, AL; brother, Lynn Darrow of Little Falls, NY; sisters, Flora Stock of Little Falls, NY, Marion and Paul Bouck of Fort Plain, NY; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Darrow of Mohawk, NY; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and also many special neighbors and friends; 1 great-great-niece and 1 great-great-nephew. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 10:00am at the Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY with Pastor Dan West officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Freysbush Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Ruth E.
