Obituary of Blanche C. Stafford

Mrs. Blanche C. Stafford, 65, of Wagners Hollow Road, Fort Plain, New York died Monday, December 3, 2012 at Mountain Valley Hospice House in Gloversville following a brief illness. Born on April 29, 1947 in Fort Plain, NY, she was the daughter of George Failing and Lulu May Williams Failing. She attended Fort Plain Central School and was a lifetime area resident. Mrs. Stafford was an Instructional Aide for Fort Plain Central School for many years. Blanche enjoyed spending time with her family and looked forward to each visit with her grandchildren. She also loved cooking. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Robert Failing and Clifford "Mick" Failing. Mrs. Stafford is survived by her 2 daughters, Tammy Honeywell and George of Fort Plain, NY, Stacy Stafford and fiancé, Toby Lamphere of St. Johnsville, NY; 2 sons, William Dygert and Jessica of Lansing, MI, Mike Dygert and Carrie Horning of Nelliston, NY; 5 brothers, George Failing of St. Johnsville, NY, Donald Failing, Neil Failing, Charles Failing all of Fort Plain, NY, Marvin Failing of Mohawk, NY; sister, Katherine Mosher of St. Johnsville, NY; 8 grandchildren, Brittni Sauve, Aaron Honeywell, Jasmine Livingston, Bailey Dygert, Brody Dygert, Brooklyn Dygert, Tyler Dygert, Brandon Dygert; 1 great-granddaughter, Laylah Hardnett; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with Pastor Dave Prahst officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery.
