Obituary of Stanley H. Bobar

Mr. Stanley H. Bobar, 79, of Lynk Street, Sprakers, New York died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at his home.
Born on September 4, 1933 in Moriah, NY, he was the son of Howard Bobar and Blanche Maple Bobar. He was a lifetime local area resident.
Mr. Bobar started his employment with Beech-Nut in Canajoharie then continued on to Lifesavers, retiring from Richardson Brands after many years of working as a Machine Adjuster.
He was a member of the Rural Grove Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Bobar loved cars and belonged to the Fulton County Antique Car Club. He also enjoyed go kart racing, snowmobiles, woodworking and furniture making.
He is predeceased by his brother, Clarence Bobar.
Mr. Bobar is survived by his 6 children, Deborah (Carl) Ovitt of Rockwood, NY, Stanley (Kathy) Bobar, Jr. of Ontario, Canada, George Bobar of Middleburg, NY, Wanda McClary of Ontario, Canada, Howard (Hope) Bobar of Canajoharie, NY and Scott(Kelly) Bobar of Canajoharie, NY; 2 sisters, Lorraine Pierce of Ballston Lake, NY, Juanita Merlino of Leesburg, FL; brother, Gerald Bobar of Galway, NY; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 6:00pm at Rural Grove Christian Church, 170 Rural Grove Road, Sprakers, NY 12166. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 3:00-6:00pm at the Church. Everyone is invited to Rural Grove Fire Department, St. Hwy. 162, for fellowship following the service.
