Obituary of Jeremy Paul Lyon

Mr. Jeremy Paul Lyon, 36, most recently of Schenectady, New York died unexpectedly, Friday, June 9, 2017 at Ellis Hospital, with his family by his side. Born on August 27, 1980 in Little Falls, NY, he was the son of Ronald Lyon and Pamela Myers Lyon. He was a graduate of Oppenheim/Ephratah High School, Class of 1998 and he attended college for a short time after that. He had been a resident of the Schenectady area for the past 2 years, previously residing in Utah. Jeremy was a fantastic saxophone player. During high school he played for the Jazz Band, Concert Band, and Marching Band. He acted in the play "Scrooge" at the St. Johnsville Reformed Church with his mom. His paternal grandparents, Garfield and Louella Lyon and his maternal grandfather, Alvin Myers predeceased him. Jeremy is survived by his parents, Ronald and Pamela Lyon of Gloversville, NY; fiancé, Victoria Plaza of Schenectady, NY; sister, Janelle Frederick of Fulton, NY; brothers, John Doxstader of St. Johnsville, NY, Fred Doxstader of St. Johnsville, NY; birth mother, MaryLou Chapman; maternal grandmother, Bertha "Birdie" Myers of St. Johnsville, NY; many aunts, uncles, cousins; niece, Chloe Doxstader; nephew, David Doxstader; and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22nd at 1:00pm at Curtis Corner Stone Chapel in Curtis, NY with Rev. Rodney Congdon officiating. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the 2nd Floor ICU Staff at Ellis Hospital. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mr. Jeremy Lyon may be made to your local area drug treatment program.
