Obituary of Lona L. Koss

Mrs. Lona L. Koss, 70, of Ridge Road, Canajoharie, New York died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Albany Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness. Born on September 21, 1942, she was the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy Long. She was a graduate of Fonda-Fultonville High School and had been a resident of Canajoharie since the 1960s. Lona worked many years for local doctors and retired from the Capital District Physician Health Insurance Company. Over the years Lona enjoyed gardening, hiking, walking, horseback riding and baking. Lona is survived by her husband of 38 years, Matthew Koss of Canajoharie, NY; sons, Gary Klump and Samantha of Bremerton, WA, Greg Klump of Nelliston, NY; sisters, June Bowler of Ballston Spa, NY, Virginia Carpenter of Albuquerque, NM; step-children, Dean Williams, Nancy Williams; 5 grandchildren, Jacob, Alex, Jessica, Ashley and Joseph. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, June 21, 2013 from 4-6pm at Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Lona Koss may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Memorial & Honor Program-F, 501 St. Jude Place, TN 38105-1905
