Mrs. Virginia Robbins, 89, formerly of Fort Plain, New York died Friday, June 16, 2017 at her daughter's home in Schaghticoke.
Born on August 17, 1927 in Allamuchy, NJ, she was the daughter of Charles and Clara Elston. She was a resident of the Fort Plain area for over 40 years, previously residing in Butler, NJ.
She, along with her husband, owned and operated Robbins Dairy Farm in Fort Plain.
She was of Methodist faith.
Mrs. Robbins enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and playing rummy. She was an avid WWE Wrestling fan.
On March 10, 1941 Virginia was married to Harold Robbins. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1985. Her daughter, Lillian Dilts and her brothers and sisters also predeceased her.
Mrs. Robbins is survived by her 5 children, Shirley MacKay of Warwick, NY, Nancy Fanslau of Saddle Brook, NJ, Diane Milbauer of Pompton Lakes, NJ, Harold Robbins of Half Moon, NY, Lorraine Robbins of Schaghticoke, NY; many grandchildren, including grandson, Andrew Robbins, who she helped raise; and several great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 2:00pm at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY with Rev. Alan Griffith officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 12:30-2:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Freysbush Cemetery.
