Obituary of Betsy B. Davis

Mrs. Betsy B. Davis, 87, formerly of Fort Plain, New York died Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Palatine Nursing Home surrounded by her family. Born on July 3, 1926 in Fort Plain, NY, she was the daughter of Guy Berry and Helen Moschelle Berry. She was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, class of 1943. Mrs. Davis was a lifelong area resident spending most of her life in Fort Plain prior to moving to Arkell Hall in 2009. Mrs. Davis worked for Fred Lee Publications for many years as an office manager and bookkeeper. Most recently she was employed with Agway Petroleum in Fort Plain. Mrs. Davis was an avid bowler. She was predeceased by her brother, Harry Berry. Mrs. Davis is survived by her 2 sons, Lon and his wife, Gabrielle Davis of Jensen Beach, FL, Larry Davis of Menands, NY; sister-in-law, Selma M. Berry of Palatine Bridge, NY; and nephew, David Berry and Diane Ananda of Bellevue, KY; special friends, Gail and Tom Coppernoll and their daughters, Tara Coppernoll Smallwood and Jena Coppernoll. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 3:00pm at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY with Rev. Zachary Labagh officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 2:00-3:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mrs. Betsy B. Davis may be made to the Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Service, 46 West Grand Street, Palatine Bridge, NY 13428.
