Mr. Brian Scott Krutz, 51, beloved son of Milton Krutz, of Stone Arabia Street, Nelliston, NY died Friday, October 11th 2013 at St. Mary's Healthcare of Amsterdam following a long illness.
Brian was born on September 27th 1962 in Amsterdam, NY, the son of Milton Krutz and Betty Waufle Krutz. He was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, Class of 1980, with high honors. He then attended Miami University. Later he continued his education by graduating from FMCC with an associate's degree. Brian then attended SUNY Oneonta, studying political science.
Most recently Brian had worked for National Grid as a line inspector; prior to that he had been employed at Don's Electric in Canajoharie, NY, and had worked with his father at his company Milt's electrical and plumbing.
Brian had lived most of his life in the local area, and was of Methodist faith. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid coin collector. Brian always looked forward to family gatherings and spending time with his family and friends.
Brian was predeceased by his mother, Betty Waufle Krutz.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Milton and Barbara Krutz of Canajoharie, NY; his son, Adam Krutz of Sprakers, NY; his Brothers, Duane Krutz and wife, Sue of Colorado Springs CO, Alan Krutz of Nellistion, NY, Shawn Krutz and wife, Anne of Mayfield, NY, Darrin Krutz of Fort Plain, NY; Stepsisters, Linda Blomquist and husband, Scott of Florida, Donna DeLuca and husband, David of Clifton Park, NY, Julie Washburn and husband, John of Gloversville, NY, Laurie Weingart and husband, Tom of St. Johnsville, NY; his loving companion, Donna Knizek of Nelliston, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral service will be held on Wedneday, October 16, 2013 at 10:00 am at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317 with Rev. Wayne Cole officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday October 15, 2013 from 4 to 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery.
