Obituary of Charles A. Russ

Mr. Charles A. Russ, 86, formerly of Canal Street, Fort Plain, New York died Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Palatine Nursing Home, following a long illness.
Born on March 11, 1927 in Norwich, CT, he was the son of Harry Russ and Mary Biles Russ. He attended Mount Pleasant High School, until joining the US Coast Guard.
Mr. Russ was employed as a welder for many years.
Mr. Russ enjoyed group Bible study at the nursing home, socialization, music and reading.
He was predeceased by his brother, Worden Russ.
Mr. Russ is survived by many friends at the nursing home as well as in the local area.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 7:00pm at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339 with overseer, Jacob Crewell officiating. Burial will take place in Gerald B. Solomon National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
