Obituary of Charles J. Dillenbeck

Mr. Charles J. Dillenbeck, Sr., 76, of Hickory Hill Road, Fonda, New York died Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Bassett Healthcare of Cooperstown. Born on June 2, 1937 in Fonda, NY, he was the son of Alfie Dillenbeck and Naomi Henry Dillenbeck. He attended Fonda Schools and was a lifetime resident of Fonda. Mr. Dillenbeck was the owner and operator of Dillenbeck Dairy Farm in Fonda, NY. The farm is where he spent his entire life. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stone Arabia. Mr. Dillenbeck enjoyed hunting as well as watching the races and tractor pulls in Fonda. Charles was married to Patricia Johnson Dillenbeck. Together they celebrated 37 years of marriage. He was predeceased by his son, John Mark Dillenbeck and his beloved dog, Beggie. Mr. Dillenbeck is survived by his son, Charles "Jake" Dillenbeck, Jr. and his wife, Michele of Fonda, NY; 4 daughters, Julie Dillenbeck of FL, Karen McClelland and her husband, Bob of Palatine Bridge, NY, Betty Chambers of Ephratah, NY, Stacia Hinkle and her husband, Tom of Fort Plain, NY; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; his beagle, Freddie. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
