Obituary of Albert R. Loring

Mr. Albert R. Loring, Sr., 80, of St. Johnsville, New York died Monday, March 31, 2014 at St. Johnsville Rehab & Nursing Center. Born on July 5, 1933 in the Town of Canajoharie, NY, he was the son of Harry Loring and Florence Russ Loring. He attended Canajoharie Schools and was a lifetime area resident, living on Clinton Road for many years. Mr. Loring was most recently employed with Treejering Co. in Dolgeville, NY. He enjoyed working on old tractors, motors and anything mechanical. Mr. Loring was predeceased by his first wife, June Loring; 2nd wife, Mabel Sunnear Loring; 3 brothers, Walt, Rodney and Robert Loring; sister, Edna Mae Loring. He is survived by his 2 sons, Albert Loring, Jr. of Fort Plain, NY, Robert Loring of South Carolina; 2 brothers, Donald Loring of Herkimer, NY, David Loring of Nelliston, NY; sister, Dorothy Dingman of North Carolina; granddaughter, Katherine Loring of Virginia; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 11:00am at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 10:00-11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery at a later date.
