Obituary of Daniel F. Reardon, Sr.

Mr. Daniel F. Reardon, Sr., 86, of Flannigan Road, Canajoharie, New York passed away Monday, October 7, 2019 at Albany Medical Center.

Born on February 14, 1933 in Danbury, CT, he was the son of Timothy Reardon and Lillian YoungQuist Reardon. He was a graduate of Newtown High School.

Mr. Reardon was a Maintenance Supervisor for Danbury Hospital until his retirement.  He then moved to Ames, NY, and at that point he was able to do the things he enjoyed, which included helping his son, drinking coffee, and working in his workshop at his house. 

He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving for 4 years.

Daniel was a member of the Marshville Evangelical Church. 

He was an excellent husband, father, and grandfather.  All that knew him will remember his as a loving person.  He enjoyed telling jokes and stories, and riding bicycles.

On April 26, 1958 at St. Rose Church in Newtown, CT, Daniel was married to Maureen Watson.

His siblings predeceased him.

Mr. Reardon is survived by his wife of 62 years, Maureen; sons, Daniel F. Reardon, Jr. and Cynthia, Robert T. Reardon; grandchildren, Daniel Reardon III and Anna, Krista and Hiram Gonzalez, Timothy and Suzanne Reardon; great-grandchildren, Katelyn Reardon, and Hiram Gonzalez II.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 1:00PM at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 12:00-1:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at Ames Cemetery.
