Please share a memory of Geraldine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mrs. Geraldine B. Enright, 92, of Ames, New York, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
She was born August 30, 1927 to George W. Bailey and Mabel L. Pirie. She was a loving sister to Ralph Bailey of FL, William Bailey of Ilion, and was predeceased by her brothers, George E. Bailey, Robert Bailey; sister, Arlene Summerfield; son-in-law, Spike Bowerman; and grandson, Eric Bowerman.
She attended Ames Academy and Canajoharie Central School. She worked as a machine operator in Beech-Nut for over forty years.
On July 31, 1948 Geraldine married the love of her life, Theron “Jake” Enright. They lived on the family farm and raised three loving daughters, Pam Bowerman, Patty Yacobucci (Rod), and Penny Biltucci (Clinton), all residing locally to be near their parents; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
Geraldine would say her greatest accomplishment was her family. She was incredibly proud of each and every one of them and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She was a kind and generous soul who loved the occasional game of pitch, soap operas, Lifetime movies, and never missed an opportunity to share a good laugh with those around her. She will be deeply missed by her two furry companions, Izzy and Jake.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY. Burial will take place in Ames Cemetery.
