Obituary of Norma J. Maring

Mrs. Norma J. Maring, 69, of Stone Arabia Road, Fort Plain, New York, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at her home, with her loving family by her side, resting from her eleven year battle with cancer.

Born on January 9, 1950 in Little Falls, NY, she was the daughter of Martin Crouse and Ethel G. Hisert Crouse.  She was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, Class of 1968 and of Fulton Montgomery Community College with an Associate Degree in Business Management.  She was a lifetime area resident.

Most recently Norma ran the Canajoharie Housing Authority.  She also worked in Human Resources for many local area businesses.

She was a member of St. John’s & St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Canajoharie, where she was also a council member.  She earned her Deaconship while she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Norma enjoyed weaving, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

On August 24, 1985 at the Palatine Shrine, Norma was married to Kenneth Maring.

Her parents, sister, Sharon, and brother-in-law, Eddie Fassett predeceased her.

Norma is survived by her husband of over 34 years, Ken Maring; 5 children, son, Christopher and Connie Blanchard, daughter, Krista and Joe Bilbrey, son, Christian and Donna Blanchard, daughter, Jamie and Bill Mundell, son, Joshua and Brittany Maring; sister, Karen A. and Daryl Kosinski; brothers, Roger P. Crouse, Alan M. and Linda Crouse, Jeffrey T. and Katherine Crouse, Ronald H. and Karen Horne; 19 grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 10:00am at St. John’s & St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Church Street, Canajoharie, NY with Pastor Jeffrey Kane officiating.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, August 19, 2019 from 5:00-7:00PM at the Church.  Burial will take place in Mapletown Cemetery in Canajoharie, NY.
