Miss Jeena Marie Nasse, 38, most recently of Auburn, Indiana passed away, Tuesday, August 6, 2019 of an accidental drug overdose, following a 20 year battle with substance abuse.
Born on October 30, 1980 in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of Paul Nasse and Rhonda Hawver. She was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, Class of 1998 and a graduate of SUNY Cobleskill, Class of 2000, where she received an Associate in Applied Science in Accounting and was named to the Dean’s List.
Jeena enjoyed working with her hands and being outdoors, camping, fishing, and being with her many friends. She was employed with Airway in Hamilton, IN. Locally she worked for NBT Bank in Canajoharie, Palatine Nursing Home, Richardson Brands, Midwest Canvas, and with the family business, Nasse Farms Quality Hay.
In High School, Jeena was a proud Lady Redskin, where she excelled in Basketball and Softball and was named to the All Star Teams, #13 shortstop.
Her grandparents, Carl and Iva Jean Nasse and Rev. Carl Hawver predeceased her.
Jeena is survived by her father, Paul and Terra Lynn Nasse of Canajoharie, NY; mother, Rhonda and Kelly Holcombe of Canajoharie, NY; identical twin sister, Jenna Monique Nasse and Mike Gros and her children, Monique, Deegan, and Jake; brother, Jereme and Latisha Nasse and their children, Nathan and Jacob, and brother, Jackson Nasse; maternal grandmother, Rosalyn Hawver; aunts and uncles, Gretchen Wadsworth, Carla and Al Braithwaite, Tammie and Mike Weiterschan, Paul and Kathe Hawver; 7 cousins, Wade and Rhonda Wadsworth, Stacey and Matt Lemma, Tyler Towse, Katherine Towse, Jessica and Ron Freese, Abraham Hawver and Lori Dodson, Ethan and Courtney Hawver.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 12:00PM at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317 with Pastor Joshua Fetterhoff officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 10:00-12:00 at the funeral home. Burial will take place privately at Mapletown Cemetery.
