Obituary of H. Irene MacFadden

Mrs. H. Irene MacFadden, 83, of Center Valley Road, Sharon Springs, New York passed away, Friday, September 14, 2018 at St. Johnsville Rehab and Nursing Center.

Born on October 3, 1934 in Neubrandenburg, Germany, she was the daughter of Gustav Mueller and Irma Papendieck Mueller.  For over 20 years, she enjoyed wintering in Dunellon, Florida.

Mrs. MacFadden was the owner and operator of Drumlin Hills Farm in Sharon Springs, along with her husband, James Daniel MacFadden, Sr. and three sons, for over 30 years.  In the 1950’s she was a foreign language secretary for Daimler Benz.

She attended Sharon Spring United Methodist Church for many years.

Mrs. MacFadden was very involved with the Farm Bureau. 

In 1957, Irene was married to James Daniel MacFadden, Sr.  He preceded her in death on December 10, 1993.  Her brother and sister also predeceased her.

Mrs. MacFadden is survived by her sons, James MacFadden, Jr. and Nancy of Sharon Springs, NY, Bryan MacFadden and Shelly of Sharon Springs, NY, Daniel MacFadden of Houston, TX; brother, Peter Mueller of Delhi, NY; sister, Cora Lauterhahn of Ludwigshafen, Germany; grandchildren, Brittani MacFadden, Bryan MacFadden, Andrew MacFadden, and Nathan MacFadden.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 6:00PM at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with Pastor Paul Ferenczy officiating.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4:00-6:00PM at the funeral home.
