Obituary of John Walter LaValley

Mr. John Walter LaValley, 38, of Carlisle Road, Sprakers, New York died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam.

Born on December 30, 1979 in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of Ronald J. LaValley and Frances Stodgel LaValley.  John attended Canajoharie High School and spent most of his life in the Canajoharie area.

Mr. LaValley worked for Midland Farms in Menands, NY.

John was a great son, husband, father, brother, friend and loved his children more than anything.  He always spoke his mind.  He liked drift cars, and always dreamed of driving one.  He was loved by so many.

On March 14, 2011 in Canajoharie, NY, John was married to Stefanie A. Conlin.

His mother predeceased him in January 2005.

Mr. LaValley is survived by his wife, Stefanie A. Conlin of Sprakers, NY; father, Ronald J. LaValley of Sprakers, NY; daughters, Dakota Jeffers of Dolgeville, NY, Cortana LaValley of Sprakers, NY, Fiona LaValley of Sprakers, NY; brother, Joseph R. LaValley of Johnstown, NY; aunt, Judith and Lawrence Molinaro of Sharon Springs, NY; niece, Trinity LaValley; several cousins; and many good friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 4:00-7:00PM at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.  Burial will take place on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 11:00AM at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
