Obituary of Paul Erhardt

Mr. Paul C. Erhardt, 92, of Fort Plain, New York, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at St. Mary’s Healthcare of Amsterdam.

Born on July 12, 1926 in Fort Plain, NY, he was the son of Carl Erhardt and Laura Cole Erhardt.  He was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, Class of 1944 and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Erhardt retired from LifeSavers in Canajoharie in 1988.  Prior to working for LifeSavers he had worked for Fort Plain Manufacturing, where he met his wife, Jane.  He also worked for Phil Wick Mills in Fort Plain.

Mr. Erhardt was a believer in Christ Jesus.

He was a member of the Bleecker Ridge Runners Hunting Club and a proud member of the NRA.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and Yankees fan.

His wife, Jane Erhardt preceded him in death on April 30, 1996.

Mr. Erhardt is survived by his son, Gregory Erhardt and Loretta Beyer of Fort Plain, NY; daughter, Kim Schutz and Jeffrey Heir of Johnstown, NY; grandsons, Evan Loske, and Ian Loske.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 1:00pm at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 12:00-1:00pm at the funeral home.  Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery.
