Obituary of Matthew D. Coons

Mr. Matthew D. Coons, 33, of Fenno Road, Dundee, New York died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at his home.

Born on November 15, 1984 in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of David Coons and Janet Childs.  He was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, Class of 2003, studying at BOCES in equine science.  He spent most of his life in the Fort Plain area, moving to Dundee recently.

Most recently Matt worked for B&H Builders in Dundee, NY.  He had previously worked for his parent’s farm, until they moved, and then at the Mattis Farm in St. Johnsville, both of which he loved working at.

Matt enjoyed working with his chainsaw, climbing and cutting down trees.  He loved farming, being outdoors, gardening, working on vehicles, and being with horses, and many other things.

On March 13, 2018 at the Railroad Tracks in the Town of Starkey, Matt was married to Anne Warner.

Both of his paternal Coons, and maternal Rouse Grandparents predeceased him.

Mr. Coons is survived by his wife, Anne Coons of Dundee, NY; father, David and step mother Ginny Coons of Otego, NY; mother, Janet and  step father James Childs of Dundee, NY; step-son, Scott Warner of Dundee, NY; brother, Greg and Stefanie Childs of Fort Plain, NY; sister, Jessica Coons of Mohawk, NY; Step-Sister Erin Harrington of North Carolina; beloved nieces, Aubree, Alissa; beloved nephews, Landon, Zachary, Trevor and his cherished dog Chloe.
