Obituary of Sarah Ann Dietrich

Mrs. Sarah A. Dietrich, 84, of Salt Springville Road, Fort Plain, New York, passed away on Friday evening, March 9, 2018 at St. Mary’s Healthcare of Amsterdam, with her daughter by her side, following a brief illness.
Born on September 8, 1933 in Preble, NY, she was the daughter of Harvey Lewis and Harriet Kenney Lewis. She had lived in the area since the early 1980’s.
Mrs. Dietrich had worked as an assistant manager of the former Ames department store in Palatine Bridge, NY until she took a promotion to become a store coordinator, which had her traveling and setting up new Ames department stores.
Mrs. Dietrich enjoyed gardening, baking and sewing, but more than anything else she loved her family, and was always there devoting her time to them. On October 26, 1952 in Cold Springs, NY she married John William Dietrich. He predeceased her on March 17, 2003. She was also predeceased by all her siblings.
Mrs. Dietrich is survived by her daughter, Rosemary and her husband Gary of Nelliston NY; sons, John William Dietrich of Lakeland FL, and Larry Eugene Dietrich of Fort Plain NY; grandsons, James P. Murphy and his wife Rebecca of Fort Plain, and Bryan Turci of Ohio; 9 Great Grand Children; as well as several nieces, nephews.
In keeping with Mrs. Dietrich’s wishes there will be a graveside service held in the spring at Fort Plain Cemetery, where she will be buried next to her husband.
