Obituary of Hazel L. Dean

Mrs. Hazel Louise (Warn) Dean of Palatine Bridge died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Albany Medical Center following a sudden illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Elvin (Happy) Dean in 2006 and her son, Robert Leslie Dean in 1963. Hazel was a spry 96 years old. Born in Utica, NY on October 18, 1918, she was the eldest child of Clarence and Florence Warn of St. Johnsville. She was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School. Hazel was married on December 9, 1939 to her loving husband, Elvin R. Dean, celebrating 65 years together. Mrs. Dean is survived by her daughter, Louise and Robert Folts; grandchildren, Naomi (Warren) Filmer, Robbie (Holly) Folts, Scott (Heidi) Folts, Todd (Tammy) Folts; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Cameron (Carla), Aubrey, Caleb, Matthew, Devin, Austin, Felicity, Mikayla, Jasmine, and Bobby; great-great-grandchildren, Vann and Emily; younger sister, Katherine Geddes; as well as many nieces, nephews, greats, and great-greats. She was known by her family and friends as "Mimi". Her family was her greatest treasure. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. Hazel had a great love for God. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on August 1949. She was a member of the Fort Plain Congregation and later the Sharon Springs Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. A memorial service will be observed Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 1:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Palatine Bridge with Mark Villeneuve officiating.
