Obituary of Miss Myra Fox

Miss Myra A. Fox, 75, of Oak Lane, Gloversville, New York died Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at St. Mary's Healthcare of Amsterdam following a very brief illness. Born on September 4, 1939 in Nelliston, NY, she was the daughter of David Fox and Alice Lampman Fox. She was a graduate of Fort Plain High School and was a lifetime area resident. Miss Fox worked at Beech-Nut in Canajoharie for over 30 years as a Supervisor and in Customer Service. Following her retirement from Beech-Nut she worked part time for the OTB for several years. She was of Protestant faith. Miss Fox was predeceased by her companion of 25 years, Mr. Angel L. Cruz on February 9, 2013. She was also predeceased by her 2 sisters, Elma Fox Wells, Elizabeth Fox Belfance and brother, Edward Fox. Myra is survived by her son, Michael Fox of Albany, NY; granddaughter, Mackenzie Fox of Delmar, NY; brother, Richard Fox of Johnstown, NY; 2 sisters, Raylene Cole of Johnstown, NY, Jean Vainauskas of Amsterdam, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. A private graveside service will be held at Fort Plain Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339.
