Obituary of Bonita Jean Leach

Mrs. Bonita "Bonnie" Shunk Leach, 64, of St. Hwy. 29, St. Johnsville, New York died Friday, October 31, 2014 at her home.
Born on May 23, 1950 in Little Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Everett R. Shunk and Vivian I. Woodbeck Shunk. She attended Canajoharie High School and was a lifetime area resident.
Most recently Bonnie worked with her sister at "Sister's Diner" in Palatine Bridge, retiring in 2011. She had also worked for Greeley's Tavern in Fort Plain for 14 years.
Mrs. Leach loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
On June 3, 2000 Bonnie married Albert A. Leach. (as of 2014) They have been together for over 31 years and recently celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Leach was predeceased by her step-sons, Mark Lindell and Tracey Leach.
Mrs. Leach is survived by her husband Albert Leach of St. Johnsville, NY; son, Robert Pawlaczyk and Brenda of Gloversville, NY; daughter, Amy Christiano of Rockwood, NY; step-children, Tina Mays and Al, Tom and Trish Leach, Ron Lindell, Kim Lindell, Christine Leach, Adam and Christine Leach, Joshua Leach; sisters, Betty and Ken Pessolano of Sharon Springs, NY, Linda and Charlie Ruszkowski of Palatine Bridge, NY, Tina and Tim Dalmata of Ames, NY, Lisa Kadur of Flat Creek, NY; best friend, Pam Durfee of Ephratah, NY; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Noon at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317 with Rev. Nancy Ryan officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Ames Cemetery.
