Obituary of Raymond E. Dygert

Mr. Raymond E. Dygert, Sr., 75, of Mapletown Road, Canajoharie, New York died Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at St. Mary's Healthcare following a short illness. Born on August 14, 1939 in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of Alfred Nelson Dygert and Blanche Mae Jones Dygert. He attended Canajoharie area schools and was a lifetime area resident. Mr. Dygert worked as a mechanic. He attended Valley Alliance Church in Nelliston and Ames Sprout Brook United Methodist Church. His life was the Ames Volunteer Fire Department and Fire Police, receiving many awards for his dedication. Mr. Dygert was predeceased by his brothers, Donald Dygert, Robert Dygert and sisters, Marge and Dorothy. Mr. Dygert is survived by his children, Kathy Ostrander, Raymond Dygert, Jr. and Glenda Dygert, Kevin Dygert and Mary Dygert, Karen Manley and Scott Manley, Tonya Dygert Graham, Julia Dygert, Margaret DuRoss and Jeremiah DuRoss; 3 brothers, Jack Dygert, Lester Dygert, Jerry A. Dygert; 18 grandchildren, Joshua Dygert, Douglas Ostrander, Dorthea Ostrander, David Ostrander, Lisa Dygert, Marvin Dygert, Willard Dygert, Christopher Dygert, Jeremiah Dygert, Zachariah O'Connor, Shelby Ortiz, Jozef Ortiz, Chevette Ortiz, Adam Ekstrom, Ethan Evens, Lucas Evens, Azaleah Lorette, Sofia Lorette; 10 great-grandchildren, Felecity Leon, Sanora Ostrander, Angel Cleveland, Summer Cleveland, Hailey Charboneau, Brandi Charboneau, Raymond Charboneau, Lexi Dygert, Marvin Dygert, Nova Dygert; several nieces, nephews and cousins and other loved ones. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 2:00pm at Freysbush Cemetery with Rev. David Prahst officiating.
