Mr. Willard R. Green, 75, of St. Johnsville, New York died Friday, February 6, 2015 at Bassett Healthcare of Cooperstown.
Born on November 13, 1939 in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son of Willard R. Green, Sr. and Mary Emma Parks Green. Before moving to St. Johnsville he was a resident of Dutchess County.
Mr. Green was the owner and operator of Reliant Installations, installing heating and cooling systems, retiring in 2009. He had also worked at Bard College for over 30 years as a Draftsman and Sheet metal worker.
He was a member of Palatine Bridge Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.
Mr. Green loved going to Rodeo's and enjoyed Western themed things. He was known in the family as a "Tinker". He always had a project going.
On November 23, 1958 Willard was married to Betty Jane Swartz. She preceded him in death on June 15, 1983. He was also predeceased by a grandson, William Ates; 3 brothers, Harry Green, John Green, Edward Green; 2 sisters, Edna MacIntyre and Loretta Vadenburgh.
Mr. Green is survived by his daughters, Rose M. Ates of Germantown, NY, Barbara A. Mureness of Canajoharie, NY, April R. Raux of Oppenheim, NY, Loretta L. Green of St. Johnsville, NY; son, Willard R. Green, Jr. of Canajoharie, NY; sister, Alice Maroni of Hyde Park, NY; 10 grandchildren, Brian, Gregory, Kayla, Kari, Joshua, Teddy, Kevin, Marcus, Nicole, Sara; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Canajoharie Falls Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mr. Green may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Grand Street, Palatine Bridge, NY 13428.
