Mrs. Shannon Marie Warne Fureno, Canajoharie, New York
Surrounded by loving family and friends, Shannon Fureno finished her battle with the brain cancer she has courageously fought over the past four years, and has been called into the loving arms of her Creator and Savior.
Mrs. Fureno fulfilled her lifelong dream of teaching as an elementary teacher at the Harry Hoag Elementary School, Fort Plain, NY.
Her life revolved around her sons, Drew and Brady. Her children were the most important thing in her life.
Mrs. Fureno was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Alfonso Persia; paternal grandfather Calvin J Warne, Sr.; step-grandfather, Harvey Cummings.
Shannon is survived by her father, Steven Warne (Laurel Gailor) of Charlton; mother, Mary Warne of Warrensburg; maternal grandmother, Josephine Persia of Brockville; paternal grandmother, Janice Cummings of Albion; paternal step-grandmother, Norma Warne, Winter Haven, FL; sons, Andrew and Brady Fureno and their father John Fureno of Canajoharie; brother, Jason Warne of Warrensburg; aunts Ernestine Persia of Rochester, Susan Befus (Gary) of Albion, Sally Cramer (Marshal) of Vancouver, BC; uncles, Paul Persia (Deborah) of Batavia, Henry Persia (Mary) of Colfax, NC, David Warne (Linda Manning) of Warsaw, Philip Warne (Patricia) of Albion, Calvin J Warne, Jr.(Gail), and many cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at the Fort Plain Reformed Church on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 6:00pm with a reception following in the church hall.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 3:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday, March 25th. Burial will take place at Fort Plain Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Shannon M. Fureno may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave. Gloversville, NY 12078, the Fort Plain Reformed Church, Manna House Meals, 165 Canal Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339, or a charity of your choice.
