Hector M. Rivera, 81, passed away on April 13, 2026, after several years of illness. He was born on March 20, 1945, in Puerto Rico, the son of Juan Rivera-Castro and Antonia Soto. 

He is survived by two sons: Hector, Jr., and Gabrial; a daughter, Kellie Rivera; and his companion of 37 years, Mary King, sister, Maria Gonzalez; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and pets. 

Hector was predeceased by his parents, brother Jose Rivera, and his pet dogs and cats.

When he was younger, he enjoyed music and dancing. He always enjoyed telling jokes to make people laugh. He also enjoyed watching Chuck Norris and old Cowboy Movies, and spending time with family, friends, and his pets.

His last job was at Beech-Nut in Canajoharie, where he had resided for more than 30 years.

The family invites everyone to join them at 1:00 on Friday, April 24th, 2026, for a graveside funeral at Canajoharie Falls Cemetery.
